Military Banner

The Windsor Hometown Heroes Military Banner Committee (Committee) has extended the deadline to accept applications from family members to honor loved ones on active duty in the United States Military by displaying a personalized banner in their honor, in the Town Civic Center. Eligible candidates are required to be currently serving in one of the five service branches of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard) and have a tie to Windsor with immediate family residing (past or present) or currently working in Windsor.

The application fee of $200 includes the Civic Center banner and a small replica souvenir banner that will be provided to the family at the Hometown Heroes Military Banner Ceremony. Financial assistance is available. The Committee is hopeful that the minimum of six qualified applications will be received by the deadline of December 13, 2018, to enable them to hold the next Banner Ceremony on January 27, 2019.

To date, the Town of Windsor has hosted seven Hometown Heroes Military Banner ceremonies with the support and recognition of Windsor’s Hometown Heroes by the military community, businesses, officials, family and friends. For details on how to apply, volunteer, or donate to the Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program, please call Amanda Gray at 707-838-5382 or go to: Application forms are also available in English or Spanish at the Town of Windsor’s Parks and Recreation Office at 9291 Old Redwood Hwy, Building 300D, and at Town Hall, Building 400, Windsor, CA 95492.
