Sonoma County Resource Recovery (SCRR) will begin curbside holiday tree recycling Wednesday, December 26 through Monday, December 31. Curbside collection is limited to Residential customers and trees up to six (6) feet tall. All trees must be free of lights, decoration, tinsel, and stand (metal or wood). Flocked trees will not be accepted. Trees larger than six (6) feet tall must be cut into manageable pieces to fit into the organic cart.
As an alternative, Residents may drop off holiday trees at the Windsor Corporation Yard at 8400 Windsor Road, daily, beginning Tuesday, December 26 through Friday, February 1, 2019. Customers that would like to donate to the Windsor Girls Scouts, a local non-profit organization, must call 707-696-2181 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment. For each Windsor tree collected by the Windsor Girls Scouts, SCRR will donate an additional $5.
For oversized or excess cardboard, SCRR will have dumpsters for residents and businesses to drop-off cardboard only, free of charge at the following sites:
- Public Works Corporation Yard, Used Oil Facility
8400 Windsor Road
- Town Parking Lot at the corner of Windsor River Road and Windsor Road
6000 Old Redwood Highway
901 Adele Drive
