IPM Active Pesticide Exemptions

Below are active approved exemptions for the use of pest control products from the Town's Discontinued Use Pesticide Products list. For more information about this exemption process and the products on this list, please see the Town's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Policy. Questions can be submitted to IPM@townofwindsor.com. You can also sign up to receive notifications of approved emergency exemption pesticide applications.

Active Exemptions: 

2021-2026: Please be advised that the Town of Windsor will be applying the herbicide Glyphosate in the street medians between January 18 - February 28. The location and application of this product have been approved by the Town Council and Town Manager as an exemption to the IPM through Resolution 3663-21.

October-November 2023: Please be advised that the Town of Windsor will be applying the insecticide Termidor Foam and Termidor HE to the location of the Cunningham House and the Hembree House, in order to address the termite infestation that has compromised the building structure. This exemption to the IPM policy has been approved by the IPM Manager and the Town Manager.

Past Exemptions:

Dec 1, 2020: Please be advised that the Town of Windsor will be applying the Fungicide Penta-Bark to the heritage oak tree located at Esposti Park. This application is for the purpose of guarding against sudden oak death. 

Jan 21-25, 2021: Please be advised that the Town of Windsor will be applying the herbicide Milestone and Vastlan to the pond berms and immediate perimeter of the towns recycled water ponds. This location is on town property within a secured perimeter. 

Nov.2022-Mar.2023: Please be advised that the Town of Windsor will be applying the pre-emergent Isoxaben to approved streetscapes from November 2022-March 2023. This is part of a pilot program approved by the Town Council and Town Manager as an exemption to the IPM policy. 

Feb 21-24, 2023: Please be advised that the Town of Windsor will be applying the insecticide Termidor Foam and Termidor HE to the location of the Senior Center, in order to address the termite infestation that has compromised the building structure. This exemption to the IPM policy has been approved by the IPM Manager and the Town Manager.
