The Nomination Period opened on July 18, 2022, and closed on August 12, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Official nomination petitions for eligible candidates that desired to file were available from the Office of the Town Clerk, 9291 Old Redwood Highway, Building 400, Windsor, from July 18, 2022, through August 12, 2022, by appointment

UPDATE: Nomination Period was Extended for Mayor Candidates for the November 8, 2022 Election

The Town of Windsor extended the Nomination Period to Wednesday, August 17, 2022 for the Mayor seat. 

Incumbent Salmon did not filed to re-run for the Mayor seat. Per Elections Code, if an incumbent fails to return Candidate nomination papers by the deadline (August 12, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.), then nomination period will be extended. Therefore, the Town extended the nomination deadline to Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Nomination Process

During the open nomination period, each interested candidate meets with the Town Clerk and/or Deputy Town Clerk. Each candidate is provided a Candidate's Filing Guide containing useful information and regulations regarding the election process and campaign. Candidates also receive important documents to be completed and filed by the end of the nomination period. These documents include, but are not limited to the Nomination Petition, Ballot Designation Worksheet, Candidate’s Statement of Qualifications Form, Code of Fair Campaign Practices and FPPC Forms (mandated by the Fair Political Practices Commission).
