Windsor Military Memorial Wall

Collage of War Memorial Features

The Town Green will soon feature a new Windsor Military Memorial Wall, a monument recognizing Windsor Veterans who lost their lives in combat and military pilots who perished in the skies after departing from Sonoma County airfields.

The new monument will be situated adjacent to the existing flag poles between the turf and the playground. The construction of the granite memorial is scheduled from September 1 to November 1 and will include the erection of the memorial wall, relocation of the existing Veterans Plaque, landscaping upgrades, a walkway and plaza, additional benches and seating, and replacement of trees in the area surrounding the monument.

The memorial benches currently located in the construction area will be temporarily removed and returned upon project completion. This area will be secured with fencing during construction, but the rest of the Town Green, including the playground, will remain fully accessible. Once completed, the Memorial Wall will provide a space for collective remembrance to honor the bravery and sacrifices of our fallen service members.
