Town of Windsor to Discuss Adding Second Dog Park

Three dogs in a park

The Town of Windsor invites residents to attend the Parks and Recreation Commission (Commission) meeting on Wednesday, October 27at 6 PM. Residents can attend the meeting in person at Town Council Chambers or on Zoom. Town staff will be providing a report on the status of a second dog park in the Town of Windsor.

The Town recognizes the benefits of offering dog parks for the community and has been exploring alternatives to add a second dog park in Windsor. Currently, the Town has a single facility, the Charles “Chuck” Williams Memorial Dog Park, located in Pleasant Oak Park.

In June, the Parks and Recreation Commission directed staff to research dog park opportunities at Wilson Ranch Soccer Park while staying within budget. Since that time, materials and labor costs associated with the project have increased substantially. After reviewing increasing project costs and on-going community feedback on dog park amenities, staff will also be re-visiting the Keiser Park Oak Grove as another potential dog park location.
