Neighbors Helping Neighbors Hello, Windsor! Can you believe it’s already almost September? I, for one, am looking forward to winter, which hopefully means the end of fire season and the start of cooler and calmer weather.
In the meantime, you should always be prepared in the event of a disaster. I encourage you to learn more and get involved with Windsor COPE, a community-led group based on the concept “neighbors helping neighbors.”
One housekeeping note: Labor Day is coming up, so the Insider newsletter will take a short break. But we will be back on Sept. 24 with a new issue. And, if you'd like to get the Insider sent to your email inbox, go to our Notify Me page to sign up.
Issue #3: August 26, 2021
Roundabout Construction Has Begun
Construction started this week on stage one of the six-stage roundabout project at the intersection of Windsor Road and Windsor River Road. Detours are in place: Windsor River Road is closed to vehicular traffic north and south between the intersection and Marshall Way. Pedestrian access to businesses along this stretch will be maintained.
Work is being done Mondays – Fridays from 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, not including holidays. Signs and orange safety cones are in place to help detour traffic and flaggers will also help with traffic flow.
New video explains project: We created a short video summarizing the year-long construction project, including its history and work to date. To watch the video, click the image above or go to: https://youtu.be/LZGA6XI_x6o.
More information, including a detour map and regular construction updates, can be found at: https://bit.ly/WRRroundabout.

The other project involves modifications to Hall Park to allow stormwater capture via a detention basin. This latter project will be done in collaboration with the Town’s Parks and Recreation Department. Exploratory boring will occur in September and construction is planned for the summer/fall of 2022.
